Ancient China Test

- There will be a test on Ancient China on Wednesday, March 13th.

- Students can study their notebooks, e-books, or the posted power point presentations.

- Review sheet for the test is posted below.

Quiz on Section 2: China Under the Zhou Dynasty

- There will be a quiz on section 2 on Tuesday, February 26th.

- Students can study their notebooks, e-books, or the Power Point presentation that is posted below.

Quiz: Settling along the Huang River

- There will be a quiz on Section 1: Settling Along the Huang River on Friday, February 8th.

- Students can study their notebooks, e-books, or Power Point presentation to prepare for the quiz.

Chapter 4 Test: The Egyptian Empire

- There will be a test on chapter 4 on Friday, February 1st.

- Students can study their notes and the Power Point presentations.

- Posted below is a review sheet for the test.

Notebook Check

- There will be a notebook collection on Friday, January 25th.

- All Power Point Presentations are posted to the school website and google classroom.

- The following sections I will be grading for this marking period are:

                                       - The First Empires

                                       - The Assyrian and Persian Empires

                                       - The Phoenicians

                                       - Egypt Under the Pharaohs

- All students should make sure all notes are copied into their notebook from all slides.

Midterm Review

- There is an updated review sheet posted for the Midterm.

- Midterm will be given next Friday, January 11th.

- Students may use all previous Power Point presentations, their notebooks, e-books, or even previous tests to answer questions on the review sheet.

Quiz on Chapter 4 Section 1: Egypt Under the Pharaohs

- There will be a quiz on Section 1: Egypt Under the Pharaohs, on Tuesday, January 8th.

- Students can study their notebooks, e-books, or the Power Point presentation to prepare for the quiz.

For tomorrow's Quiz:

- We ran out of time while I was going over the 6th questions which will be a short-response question.

- The 6th question will be to describe some ways the environment shaped Egyptian culture.

             Answer: The Nile River gave Egyptians the ability to grow enough food. The river formed a communication and trade pathway for northern and southern Egypt.

- One of the multiple-choice questions is asking the source of the Nile River. The source of the Nile river is the blue Nile and the White Nile.

Holiday Break Assignment: Open Book Test

- Read pages 170- 181 in your e-books. The topic is Ancient Judaism.

- After reading complete the test that is attached. It is due on Friday, January 4th.

- You can attach your answers to google classroom or you can print it out and hand it in on the due date. If you print it out all you have to hand in is the answer sheets for the matching, multiple choice questions and the sheet for the extended response questions. Please do not print out the entire test.

- There will be a test on Sections 3 and 4 on Friday, December 14th.

- Students can study their notebooks, e-books, or Power Point presentations to prepare.

Homework: The City of Babylon

- Students will complete a worksheet on the city of Babylon.

- There is an activity at the bottom of the page where students will choose one of the four topics from the chart and explain its impact on Babylon and the Persian empire. This part should be completed on a separate piece of paper.

- The assignment will be collected Wednesday, December 5th.

Group Assignment: Rebuilding Babylon

- Groups will create restoration plan for the city of Babylon by creating projects in the areas of (1) Building Projects, (2) government, (3) Currency,  and (4) Art.

- Groups will plan projects in the previously mentioned areas. For example, a group will come up with a project concerning building something like a government building, bridge, roadway, or anything else a group may come up that would serve and improve the city.

- Groups will present their projects to the class and explain how their projects would improve in the city of Babylon.

Quiz on Section 3: The Assyrian and Persian Empires

- There will be a quiz on section 3 titled the Assyrian and Persian Empires on Friday, November 30th.

- Students can study their notes, e-book, or Power Point presentation.

Homework Assignment

- 2 hand-out sheets will be due on Wednesday, November 14th.

- Each hand-out will be graded as one homework assignment.

- The hand-outs are titled; "An Eye for an Eye" and "Unusual Punishment"

- Assignments will be collected on their due date.

Chapter 3 Test: Sections 1 and 2

- There will be a test on the first two sections of chapter 3 on Wednesday, November 7th.

- There is a review sheet for the test posted below, as well as the last section's Power Point: The First Empires

Notebook Collection

- Student notebook's will be collect on Wednesday, October 31st.

- The previous three sections will expected to be completed. The titles are as follows:

                      - Early Agriculture

                      - Cities and Civilizations

                      - The Civilization of Sumer

- If any students are behind on their notes, they can access all of the above Power Points from the school website.

- There will be a quiz on Section 1: The Civilization of Sumer next Tuesday, October 30th.

- Students can study their notes, e-book, or the Power Point that is posted below.

Test on Section 1 and Section 2.

- There will be a test on Sections 1 & 2 on Friday, October 12th.

Homework Assignment: A Day Without Technology

- Students will imagine that they have no access to any form of technology for one day and write about it.

- From when they wake up to when they go to sleep, students will describe what they did, and how they got through a day without the use of any technology.

- Students are expected to use details and specifics about their day.

- This assignment should be about a page long, and will be collected on Wednesday, October 3rd.

9/17/18- Quiz on Section 1: Early Agriculture

- There will be a quiz on Section 1 of Chapter 1 on Friday September 21st.

- Students should study their notes or Power Point presentation (posted below) to prepare for the quiz.

9/10/18- Newspaper Article

- Students are to create a newspaper article based off of the information on the hand-out sheet titled, "Spread the News."

- Students will choose information off the hand-out to report on a scientific discovery that was made by an anthropologist about early humans.

- Student's finish assignment should be in the format of a newspaper article with a headline, text, and text features.

- This assignment is due Friday September 14th.
