Presidential Quotes
- Choose a President from the list, and research one of their important quotes. They don't have to be President at the time they were quoted.
- Students will break down the quote and explain what the President meant. They will also explain the overall message of the quote.
- This assignment is due Wednesday, February 20th. This assignment will be collected so students are expected to have their explanation written out or typed out along with the quote they chose.
- Students will present their quote and explanation to the class on the due date. Students must have their explanation printed out or written out on its due date or points will be deducted from their overall score.
- Students are free to come to me for any help or advice they could use in completing this assignment.

- There will be a quiz on section 3 of chapter 6 on Thursday, February 7th.

American Revolution Timeline
- Design a timeline that will show significant events between the dates of 1763-1783.
- The timeline must be annotated, meaning there should be a brief description of the event (no more than 3 sentences). Provide the overall significance or importance of the event.
- Each annotation should have a date and an illustration that is associated with that event.
- Dates should be as exact as possible.
- Make sure your timeline is readable, neat, creative, and visually appealing. Do not forget to proofread and make sure there are no misspellings.
- This assignment will be graded as a test and grades will be based on accurately completing the task, accuracy of the information, and most importantly creativity.
- This assignment will be due on Tuesday, March 5th.

Midterm Review

Holiday Break Assignment: Open Book Test
- Read pages 7- 38 in your e-books. The topic is Early Americas and European Exploration.
- After reading complete the test that is attached. It is due on Thursday, January 3rd.
- You can attach your answers to google classroom or you can print it out and hand it in on the due date. If you print it out all you have to hand in is the answer sheets for the matching, multiple choice questions and the sheet for the extended response questions. Please do not print out the entire test.

- There will be a quiz on Section 1 of Chapter 5: Trouble on the Frontier next Tuesday, November 20th.

Newspaper Article: Battles of the French and Indian War
- This assignment will be collected on Thursday, November 15th.
- Students will be assigned a battle from the French and Indian War, and then write a newspaper article based off it.
- The standards and/or criteria for this assignment when be explained during class. There is also a sheet attached that lists the standards by which this assignment will be graded on.
- This assignment will be graded as a test.

- There will be a test on Tuesday, November 6th.

- One of the extended responses will be based off of the John Locke and Baron de Montesquieu ideas on government. That information can be found on the last few slides of the "Spread of New Ideas" Power Point, which is posted below.

                    - The New England Colonies
                    - The Southern Colonies

- If any students are missing notes from any of the above sections, the Power Points can be accessed on the school website.

Group Project: Colonial Pamphlet
- Students will be placed in groups and collaborate to create a pamphlet on a early American Colony.
- Group will present their finished pamphlet to the class. Presentations will begin on Tuesday, October 30th. That will also be the due date of this assignment.
- Pamphlets will consist of five categories: government, religion, economy, geography, and international relationships.
- The criteria for this assignment, and questions to help the groups consider, are posted below.

U.S. Map Quiz:
- There will a quiz on the U.S. Map. Students will receive a blank map of the U.S. and they will have to identify where each state is located.
- Each blank state will have a number. Students will fill in the correct state name on their answer sheet that coincides with the number on the map.
- Quiz will be given on Monday September 17th for 7-2, and 7-1 will take the quiz on Tuesday September 18th.
