Lent Word Cloud - Please use the hand template to create a word cloud using words relating to Lent and the Easter season. All words used must be religious words. You may not use words in your word cloud that are related to the commercial Easter holiday. The word Lent should be written on the front cover along with a drawing of a religious symbol. Another religious symbol should be drawn on the inside left side of the hand. The word cloud belongs on the inside right side of the hand. You are expected to include about 40-50 religious words in your word cloud. When creating your word cloud, please think of a scheme of color and design. Words should be written in various sizes, positions, and colors. The back of the right side of the hand must be glued on to a piece of construction paper. Will be graded.

Journal Write - Describe your idea of a hero. What makes someone a hero? What are some qualities that a hero possesses? Your essay can be either someone you know or simply qualities of a hero.

President Presentation - Should be done as a Powerpoint or Google Slides. You will present your project to the class. Presentations should have 15 slides, one of those slides will be your Bibliography/Works Cited page. You may add pictures but they should not take up the majority of the space on the slide. You slides should include important and thoughtful information about the president. Slides should include:
  • Childhood - when and where he was born; what was his family like; description of his childhood; education
  • Life before presidency - family (wife and children); jobs/occupation; previous political experience; military experience; business ventures
  • Presidential Years - when and how long; political climate at the time; world events at the time; successes and failures of his time in office; 
  • Time after Presidency - what was his life like after presidency; any achievements in politics or personal life; why do we remember this president
Graded as a test out of 50 points. Grade will include: content, originality, factual relevance and accuracy, organization, eye contact, volume, inflection and tone, audience engagement, attitude and effort, knowledge of material presented.

"My Musical Journey" essay due tomorrow. Must be 2 paragraphs written in Times New Roman or Arial, 13 or 14 font, 1.5 or double-spaced. 10-15 sentences in each paragraph. Include a heading and title.
1st paragraph: past musical history - Some things to consider for your paragraph: Who/what influenced your musical interests? Do certain songs, singers/groups, genres remind you of specific memories? Do you/did you play a musical interest or sing in a chorus/choir?
2nd paragraph: current musical interest - Some things to consider for your paragraph: What type of music do you listen to now? Why? What is it about certain artists or songs that grab your attention? Who is your favorite artist and why? Do specific genres speak to you? Why? Can you relate to an artist and their music? Why?

Please begin to work on the essay. The template for the essay will be given tomorrow in class. Follow the essay guidelines. 2 paragraphs of 10-15 sentences each. Do not answer in question/answer format. You must write an essay. The questions/bullets below are just a guideline of points for you to address in your essay.

  • What was his mission? How did he accomplish his goals?
2nd paragraph - your thoughts about the things that MLK did.
