Thank You Parents and Boys and Girls

Dear Parents, Boys, and Girls,

It is very difficult for me to put into words how much your special drive-by yesterday, meant to me.

Seeing all of you yesterday was so wonderful and truly touched my heart. I tried so hard to hold back my tears as I saw all of your beautiful faces, signs, treats, and letters as car after car came down my block. I am so overwhelmed by all of your love and kindness and feel so lucky and blessed to have such an amazing group of students and parents this year! I can’t thank you enough for giving me this amazing gift that I will hold in my heart forever!

A special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Li for the most beautiful and touching video that I now have to treasure forever!

Ironically, Mr. Li caught a glimpse of the special Hope Star in his video which is nailed to a pole down the block. The story of that star is one of hope and strength.  It was made and put there during Hurricane Sandy as a symbol that everyone would rebuild and come back stronger than before after this block suffered a tremendous loss that day.  It has remained there for the past 7 years, during all of the subsequent snowstorms and strong winds.

As much as all of us miss our friends and wish that we could be together in our classroom, we will also get through this together with hope and strength.  We are so lucky to be able to see each other on Zoom and we will continue to work hard and have fun for the next month and a half!

I can’t wait to see all of you on Monday and thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

Love, Ms. Donato
