Remember that the Padre Nuestro (Our Father) is the oral project for the 4th quarter.  Students will create a video of themselves reciting the Lord's Prayer in Spanish or students can recite their prayer live during our live streams on Friday, 5/22, 5/29 or 6/5. I will be listening for pronunciation and fluidity.

Step 3: Several students have not submitted a google doc of activity 17, the adjective worksheet or the friend paragraph from last week. Assignments must be sent to me for grading. I have sent many notifications with few responses. Make sure that all of these items are properly submitted. If you have not been returned a grade you should check to make sure that your assignment is posted in the proper place.

Students should also complete the reading comprehension worksheet and record their answers on the google form answer sheet. I will be grading everything you submit. Take care when completing work. Many assignments from this week have not been submitted. Make sure when turn in work that your file is properly attached.

Students will describe their best friends. Students previously described how they are and how they are not in a Diamond Poem. Now we will describe our best friends. Write a small paragraph using the example below.

Example: Se llama Isabel. Ella es muy sociable. A Isabel le gusta estudiar y ir a la escuela. No es atrevida ni perezosa. Ella es mi amiga.

Your writing will be graded on:
- the amount of information you give about your friend.
-the variety of vocabulary that you use.
-the accurate use of newly learned vocabulary and grammar usage/gender agreement

Students should complete the posted worksheet and submit it to google classroom when completed. This will be graded as a classwork.

Remember to make sure that your adjective agrees in gender with the person it is describing.

Last week, students copied the new Definite and Indefinite articles grammar box into the NB. Any student who was absent should be sure to copy the notes and complete activity 18.

For classwork: Students should complete activity 17 from page 61 by writing both questions an answers (since no partner is available). Be sure to submit activity 17 via google classroom. The chapter is posted on classroom. Please read the pronunciation section on page 61 and complete the Try it out!

For homework: Students should complete wb page 27 and interactive activity JCD-0113 at PHSchool.com.

I will post answers on Thursday for wb page 27 and activity 18. Make sure to correct those assignments as I will be checking for evidence of correction when we return.

Students in class today took their adjectives exam and received the new notes from TB page 60 (Gramatica box).  We will be moving onto the singular definite (el and la) and indefinite articles (un and una).  All workbook pages to page 26 should be completed at this point. Students also completed activity 18 from page 61 in the TB by writing out each sentence and providing the necessary articles to complete the sentence.

Finish wb page 26 and complete the TH assessment.  These will help us study for tomorrow's test.  

An assessment on the Gender of adjectives will be given on 3/12.

Students should complete wb pages 24 and 25.  Students should also be sure to complete the ven diagram from activity 7 (pg. 55 in the TB) if it was not completed in class.  Students should also create their Diamond poem by removing Elena's adjectives for adjectives that represent them.  Make sure that adjectives agree with your gender. Poems should be colorful and not created on the computer.  Poems will also be displayed in the hallway.  Students can use the model in their notebook for a template.  Poems should be decorated and colorful.

Be sure to complete wb pages 22 and 23.  They will help you study.  Remember to use audio file JCD-0199 when studying.

Students should have the new vocabulary from page 70 copied into the notebook.  We will have a quiz on 3/5.

Don't forget to finish categorizing your infinitives in the notebook for tomorrow.  Do not forget about notebook and workbook checks. 

Please check google classroom for our first writing assignment.  A detailed description is posted.  Keep working on your flashcards.  Students should also print out the "Our father" from the website and glue to the inner cover of notebook for convenience. 

Please use the posted information and checklists to create your sentences. Read the directions carefully. We discussed all details in class.

Students in class copied new notes after their vocabulary quiz.  Absentee students should see me for a makeup quiz.  Students should be sure to have copied the Cognates notes from TB page 34, Negatives and the recuerdas box pg. 36, Expressing agreement notes pg 38 in the notebook.  Be sure to label all sections and complete any "try it out" sections.  Be sure to read the Pronunciation section from page 39 and remember to create some flashcards.  We will be discussing these notes during the week.

Students will complete a vocabulary quiz using their new vocabulary from page 46.

Please read the posted notes on the Days of the week and Months of the year.  Complete wb page 7.

Students should complete the posted take home assessment.  Print out the assessment.  It will be collected and graded.  Midterm reviews have been posted to google classroom.

Please read and understand the policy regarding students coming to school sick, with the flu, or with a fever. They will be sent home. If you can not pick them up, they will remain in the nurses office for the day and will not be permitted in class. This is very important. We have an obligation to keep our students healthy and the policy will be strictly enforced.  If a student tests positive for the flu, children are not to return to school until they are at least fever free for 48-72 hours, as they are still considered to be contagious for about a week. In short, if your child is diagnosed with the flu, they must not come to school until they are cleared by a doctor. Any student who comes to school sick or with a fever will be sent home to insure the health and well being of everyone. All tests can be made up upon return.  Additionally, even if your child does not have the flu, but has had a fever, they should not return to school until they are fever free for at least 24 hours. The same applies to vomiting and or/ "sensitive" stomach issues. We have members of our school family with compromised immune systems and all precautions should be taken to prevent other students from getting sick. Students have been assigned a travel brochure project.  Project details are posted to the website under the project link.  The first part of our research project is to create the flag for our country.  Each student chose a country out of a hat.  Please open the link for flag details.

Students will complete a quiz on numbers in Spanish.

Student should use the posted chapter to complete Activity 8 from page 7 in the chapter.  Students should be sure to write out the Spanish number word.

Students should view the new notes.  Each student is responsible from number 0-100.  Students should also complete the distributed spelling worksheet and hand in on Thursday, 10/10.

Students should be sure to complete wb page 4 section A only.  Remember to familiarize yourself with your new number patterns.

Students should be sure to complete the numbers notes from the top of page 7 in the text book.  Please be sure to copy the numbers in bold blue at the top of the page.

Students will be working in class on a dialogue with a partner.  Students will work with their partners during class and concentrate on pronunciation and vocabulary at home.  Remember to use JCD-0099 at PHSchool.com for this units audio files.

Students will follow the posted directions to create a comic strip.

Students should be sure to copy and define and phrases from TB page 6 that were not completed during classwork.  Students should complete workbook page 3 for homework.

The first Spanish test will be given on 9/26.  It will cover the first three sections of vocabulary covered in class.  Students should use their notebooks to study.

A vocabulary quiz will be given on 9/20.  The quiz will cover the current vocabulary.  Students may use the posted PDF or their notebooks to study.  Remember we are only working on the first 3 sections of vocabulary.

Workbook page 1 should be completed and please cover workbook with contact paper.

Students should be sure to have all conversations from page 2 in the TB copied and translated into the notebook.  Take notice of the different times and each conversation takes place.  Use the posted chapter to assist you.  Don't forget to practice pronunciation of new vocabulary using JCD-0099 at PHSchool.com

Students will copy the 1st three sections of vocabulary into the notebook.   Please use the posted PDF.  The vocabulary sections on how to greet someone, to ask and tell how someone is and to say goodbye, should be the only sections copied.  Students may use this vocabulary to create flashcards as well.  Students should practice pronunciation using PHSchool.com using webcode JCD-0099 (Repaso del capítulo).  Remember that flashcards should be maintained throughout the quarter and will be collected at the end of every quarter.

All students should check the label on the new chromebooks to ensure that names are correct.
