Important Information for Families:
We welcome grandparents, or a special adult in your child's life who holds that meaningful role, on one of two days of SJHA's Annual Grandparents Day shows. Because we're a large school community, we split Grandparents Day across two days to ensure everyone has a great experience.
If they have grandchildren performing in both the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. shows, grandparents are welcome to stay in the auditorium between performances. If they have grandchildren with last names from both groups (A-L and M-Z), please have the grandparents choose their preferred attendance day. Since all students perform on both days, they will see all their grandchildren perform regardless of which day they attend.
To keep things fair for all families, we ask that this day be dedicated to celebrating with grandparents and those special adults only. Parents are not able to attend due to our limited space.
If a grandparent requires additional support or accommodations such as mobility assistance, accessible seating, or a special entrance, please let us know. We'll have many volunteers available and will work with you to ensure a comfortable experience.
Each grade level will perform for about 10 minutes. Students will return to class and remain there until dismissal and cannot leave early with grandparents. This maintains our full day of learning and ensures all students feel equally included.
We'll have a brief greeting and photo opportunity for grandparents for the 8:30 am show, plus refreshments will be available for our guests of both shows.
Pre-K Tours Available: Grandparents of Pre-K students are welcome to take a tour of the Pre-K classrooms.
You will receive additional details regarding parking and a reminder of times and important info in an email in the days prior to the event.
