Description
Founded by the Daughters of Divine Charity, St. Joseph Hill Academy Elementary and High School is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Advancement/ Development. The individual in this role will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing a comprehensive fundraising program to support the mission and strategic goals of St. Joseph Hill Academy while safeguarding the legacy of the Daughters of Divine Charity for future generations. This position reports directly to the President, Sister Mary Coffelt, F.D.C

Key Responsibilities/Specific Duties:

Oversee comprehensive fundraising programs in collaboration with President Sister Mary Coffelt to cultivate and secure major donors and gifts supporting the Congregation's mission of Academic Excellence. This includes maintaining the facilities and infrastructure entrusted to the school. Initiatives include but are not limited to: capital campaigns, annual appeals, scholarships, alumni engagement, major gift solicitation, funding for specific improvements, The 1919 Society (leadership-level giving society), Summum Bonum Planned Giving Society, grant proposals and newsletters.

Develop and implement targeted fundraising strategies, plan and execute fundraising events and establish systems for assessing outcomes.

Identify new opportunities for financial contributions through grants, corporate sponsorships, major gifts and the advancement of alumni relations.

Prepare a budget, analytical and statistical reports and meet monthly with the President to submit and discuss queries and financial reports.

Write internal and external communications, including articles for appeals, campaigns, grant writing, special announcements for the school websites and other communications designed to promote and strengthen the financial position of St. Joseph Hill Academy.

Your leadership and contributions will be vital in ensuring these core values are sustained for future generations.
Requirements
Passion for the mission and values of St. Joseph Hill Academy.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Advancement, Non-Profit Management, Communications, Organizational Leadership, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.

Applicant should have at least 5-10 years of Development experience in a fundraising capacity within an educational setting (K-12 – Higher Education) or in a related non-profit environment.

Solid understanding of fundraising best practices, emerging trends and legal requirements.

Ability to respect and maintain strict adherence to confidentiality in all matters.

Excellent leadership abilities, as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling proposals, presentations and consistent messaging.

Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Strategic thinking and planning skills paired with strong execution and project management abilities.

Proficiency in donor database systems (e.g., with Raisers Edge) and Microsoft Office Suite. High attention to detail, accuracy, accountability and flexibility.
