Poinsettia "Christmas Flower" with generous power

The American Cancer Society of Staten Island teamed up with Staten Island University Hospital Pediatric Oncology Unit as well as six local families on Staten Island to fulfill holiday wishes this year.  Through the generosity of donations they are able provide gifts to 20 sick children at SIUH as well as grant the wishes of 6 local families whose child has been affected by pediatric cancer.

This year, St. Joseph Hill Academy's Troop 5198 donated a generous portion of it's annual poinsettia sales to sponsor an 8-year-old cancer survivor named Alessandra, and her supportive big sister, Valentina.  Gifts from the troop will be delivered by members of the ACS Junior Board on Wednesday, December 22nd and the girls in the troop will have a special Zoom call with Alessandra for a special meet and greet in the new year.

Troop 5198 would like to thank the entire Hill community of family and friends for purchasing poinsettias to support this donation.  Connecting personal faith and values of generosity to help others in the community was truly a testament of the humanitarian spirit instilled at Hill!
