CSW 23: SJHA Distinguished Graduate Mass

Catholic Schools Week serves as a time for Catholic Schools to recognize who we are in our mission of providing Faith, Excellence, and Service to our students. St. Joseph Hill Academy Elementary School began Catholic Schools Week on Monday, January 30, 2023 with a Distinguished Graduate Mass that also recognized the generous support of SJHA Alumnus, Mr. Peter J. Shudtz, E '62. A special thank you to Monsignor William Belford of the Church of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus for joining the SJHA community this morning for our Catholic Schools Week Liturgy.

SJHA’s faith is rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ whose Word inspires us in lessons to live our lives. Our excellence is rooted in our rigorous educational program where tradition meets innovation. The fulfillment of this mission is possible through the generosity of our benefactors, especially Mr. Peter J. Shudtz, E '62. It is because of benefactors like Mr. Shudtz that SJHA students are able to learn in innovative ways and continually be challenged to meet and overcome obstacles. Our service is rooted in knowledge and action. We are continually provided with the knowledge that many in our community are in need, which drives our action to serve. As we participate in the events of Catholic Schools Week, we continue to live out the Faith, Excellence, and Service of St. Joseph Hill Academy and light the way for everyone.

Following the Distinguished Graduate Mass, Mr. Shudtz joined JHA Administrators,, Faculty and Staff from both the Elementary and High Schools,  Sister M. William McGovern, and a number of Junior High students in the Elementary School’s Collaborative Learning Technology Center for a reception. Funding for the new Cooperative Learning and Technology Center was generously provided by Mr. Shudtz in memory of his parents, Ursula and Charles Shudtz.
