- This assignment is due by the end of the day tomorrow, May 27th. This assignment will be graded as a quiz. If students are late in handing in this assignment, then they will lose points off their final grade depending on how late it is handed in.

Instructions: Create a patriotic song for Sparta It could be a national anthem for the city-state, or it could be a battle song that the Spartans sing before they go into battle.
- The grade will be based off of how creative a student can be in creating their song. It has to make sense so the lyrics should be about things you learned about Sparta from either the video or the PowerPoint.
- It should be 2-3 verses long. It doesn't have to be long but it should be long enough as a national anthem or fight song would be.
- Overall, I'm looking for creativity. Students should not just throw together information randomly for this song.
- Students can also perform their song if they wanted and hand in their performance.

- Attached is graphic organizer. Use the PowerPoint presentation of Democracy in Athens to fill in the facts boxes for Rights of Citizens, Duties of Citizens, and the Bodies of Government. In the second box marked opinion, give your opinion on those facts. For example, for the Rights of Citizens box, you can comment on whether citizens should have more rights or the rights they are given are fair. Write an opinion based off the facts written in the previous box.

- At the bottom of the page is an activity, but you can ignore that. All I want you to do is fill in the graphic organizer. Fill in the boxes.

- Attached is a link to a map of the Greek city-states. There are actually several links you can click on. Students should look over the map to get a better idea of how ancient Greece was constructed. Some city-states are larger and power powerful than others, like Athens, Sparta, Thebes, and Argos. There also several smaller city-states that are not pictured on the map. Small city-states were forced to rely on the larger city-states for support. They formed alliances with each other.

- I have also posted a video about the phalanx. It explains how Greek armies used the phalanx in battle.

- This homework assignment will be due on Friday, March 27th. This assignment grade will count towards the fourth marking-period.

- Students should fill out the hand-out sheet (posted below) on separate piece of paper or document. The boxes in the chart may be too small to write in. There is also a separate task with instructions listed at the bottom of the sheet.
Instructions:
- Read through the specific philosophies of Confucius and Laozi in the boxes, and based off those philosophies and feelings fill out the individual boxes. For example the first box is titled, "Goal of the philosophy." Based off the information from the sheet and what you already know about the two philosophies describe what their main goals are.
- Please write your answers on a separate document. The boxes are too small to provide a complete answer.
- At the bottom of the sheet is a task that can be completed on the same document. For that part you are to write your own philosophy in dealing with a current problem that you or someone you know has. We are all dealing with the sample problem of the Coronavirus so maybe you want to come up with a philosophy to deal with that problem.
