First grade is an exciting year filled with many challenges and many joys.  
 
The children are taking a big step in the direction of independence.  
 
Even though this is a long process, now is the time to start!
 
This is a fundamental grade; skills that are taught in first grade will affect your child throughout their lives.  
 
One of our goals is to provide a framework of good study habits and organizational skills that will help your child now and in the future grades as well.  
 
We look forward to a new rewarding year filled with laughter and many memories.

Friday, March 31st.:            Last Day of school before Easter Recess Begins
       
       *** New York ELA State Test will be given on Wednesday, April 19th and Thursday, April 20th. Students will need to have three (3) new #2 sharpened pencils.  They will need to have two (2) silent reading books for when they are finished with the test.
