2024 Mr. Hansen honored with Patrick F. Daly Award

St. Joseph Hill Academy Elementary School is honored and thrilled to share that our very own, Principal Lawrence Hansen, was chosen to receive the 2024 Patrick F. Daly Award along with former Tottenville High School Assistant Principal David LaMorte (awarded posthumously) by the Staten Island Borough President Vito J. Fossella. Mr. Hansen was so honored to be recognized as one of Staten Island’s outstanding educators in memory of Patrick F. Daly, who left a legacy of service to the community, steadfast commitment to his students, and leadership. Mr. Daly was a principal who was killed in Red Hook, Brooklyn, in 1992 while searching for a student who had left the school building.

Gratitude for what Mr. Hansen does day-in and day-out at @sjhaes for six years doesn’t even begin to cover it. All of us at SJHA are proud to celebrate him, the backbone of our elementary school community. From dawn ‘til dusk, he tirelessly leads, inspires, and uplifts us all. Mr. Hansen, your dedication to our students, faculty, community, and Catholic education is beyond measure. Thank you for being the guiding light that keeps our students’ educational journey shining bright and for ensuring SJHA continues to be Where Tradition Meets Innovation with Catholic values at the center.
