Greek gods and monsters project due April 29th.
 
Using the god or monster that you have been assigned, create a poster that includes:
  • a title of your god or monster, and your name and class
  • a 1-2 paragraph summary of important information about your god or monster written as an informative essay in 3rd person (only presentation is done in 1st person). Each paragraph should be 10 or more sentences written in 12-13 font size, 1.5 spacing, Times New Roman or Arial font. Must have a heading and title
  • 4 pictures with captions written in complete sentences that include relevant information and a description of each picture
  • at least 3 sources typed in MLA format located on the bottom right-hand corner of the poster
  • project should be done on posterboard only (24x36) - no foam board, trifold, oaktag, or construction paper
Presentation:
  • in 1st person point of view, you will present your god or monster to the class beginning Monday, April 29th. Include any relevant or interesting facts about your god or monster. Teach your audience something new about your god/monster. Be prepared to answer questions.
  • you may dress up as your god or monster, or bring in a symbol/s or representation/s of your god/monster (Ex: trident, lightning bolt) Your god/monster costume/outfit must be easy for you to put on over your uniform which you will do right before you present. Props must be school appropriate. 
  • presentations should last 1-2 minutes. You must be well-prepared to speak without looking at any reference materials. Small index cards are allowed to help remind you what to say, but are not to be directly read from.
 
Project and Presentations will be graded as a test out of 50 points and effort is a key factor in your grade.  Will be graded on content, originality, factual relevance and accuracy, organization, eye contact, volume, inflection and tone, audience engagement, attitude and effort, and knowledge of the material presented.

Lent Word Cloud - Please use the hand template to create a word cloud using words relating to Lent and the Easter season. All words used must be religious words. You may not use words in your word cloud that are related to the commercial Easter holiday. The word Lent should be written on the front cover along with a drawing of a religious symbol. Another religious symbol should be drawn on the inside left side of the hand. The word cloud belongs on the inside right side of the hand. You are expected to include about 40-50 religious words in your word cloud. When creating your word cloud, please think of a scheme of color and design. Words should be written in various sizes, positions, and colors. The back of the right side of the hand must be glued on to a piece of construction paper. Will be graded.

African American Character Analysis Essay and Presentation - 5 paragraph essay
 
  • 1st paragraph - introduction/background information on the African American that you were assigned to write about. 8-10 sentences
  • 3 body paragraphs - each body paragraph must contain one character trait that describes your person. You must explain why you choose that trait and what events/experiences/accomplishments in their life supports the description of that trait. 8-12 sentences.
  • 5th paragraph - conclusion - wrap up your essay. Give a personal connection or a reflection on that person's accomplishments/impact on you or others' lives. 5-6 sentences.
  • Your last page must include a Bibliography/Works Cited page. You must use the reference pack that I gave out to help you write an accurate bibliography.
  • Format - 12-14 font; Times New Roman or Arial; 1.5 or double-spaced; heading with title; cover with picture, title, your name and class
  • Presentation - 1-2 minute presentation. Include background information, as well as the 3 traits and support. You can have an index card as a guide, but you may not directly read from the card.
